America Can't Get Enough of Newark PD's 'Gluten-Laced Meth' PSA

Who is in charge of the Newark, California Police Department’s Facebook page? Because they need a raise, like yesterday.

A Bay Area police department’s offer to check meth for “deadly gluten,” has gone viral.

“Is your meth laced with deadly gluten? Not sure? Bring your meth down to the PD and we will test it for you for free!” the Newark Police Department wrote in a post on its Facebook page last Thursday.

In a comment under the post, the department promised it was open 24/7 and has “certified testers ready to help.”

The post has been viewed over 10 million times and shared by hundreds of thousands on Facebook. It’s so popular that other police departments have been copying it.

No word on whether anyone has brought their stash in for testing. But this is California, so we wouldn’t be surprised.

Costa Mesa is the first city in Orange County to allow medical marijuana manufacturing, testing and distribution. But its openness doesn’t come cheap.
