Bay Area Towns Among Best Places to Raise a Family in California

A new survey conducted by the San Francisco-based startup Niche finds that Bay Area cities have the most to offer when it comes to raising a family.

To determine the rankings, Niche took a look at several important factors, including school quality, crime rates, age demographics, and access to health and child care.

San Ramon ranked #1 on California’s list, followed by the City of Cupertino. Both scored A grades for education, day care access, and housing. They received B grades for elements like crime and safety and access to grocery stores.

Palo Alto, Mountain View, and Pleasanton rounded out the top 5. Other California cities in the top 10 include St. Helena, Folsom, Truckee, South San Francisco, and Santa Monica.
