Diane Thompson Named City Manager of Arroyo Grande
The City of Arroyo Grande has named a new city manager.
Diane Thompson, interim manager for the town of Ross, was hired by the city council Tuesday at a base salary of $179,000.
In addition to her work for Arroyo Grande, Thompson served as city manager in Cotati from 2007 to 2014. She holds a master’s degree in public policy and administration from Northwestern University.
Thompson is replacing Steve Adams, who stepped down last year amid an alleged sex scandal. Adams, who had held the position for 14 years, has since claimed he was fired from the job.
Thompson’s first day is scheduled for Aug. 1. Retired Glendale Assistant City Manager Bob McFall has been serving as interim city manager, and will continue to do so until Thompson takes over.
